SPRINGER BOOK – Military Geoscience in Peace and War

DEADLINE: 31 DECEMBER 2019

  • Please submit your paper to us in Microsoft Word.
Figures have to be submitted individually.
The book will be produced in several formats in addition to hard copy (e.g. eBook, ePub for iPad, Kindle edition etc.) and all formatting will be handled by the production team. You thus do not have to format your paper.
  • However, Springer editors have compiled a list of key style points on manuscript structure, figure resolution, reference style etc., which – if considered during manuscript preparation – will help facilitate and speed up the publication process for the book.
  • For easy reference please visit the Key Style Points on springer.com.
  • For more detailed information, please visit the Book Manuscript Guidelines on springer.com.
  • If you submit color illustrations, we will assume that you would like them to be in color in the printed book.
  • The average length of each chapter will be 15 pages, including figures (50,000 total characters, including spaces).  You need reduce this number by about 3000 characters for each full-page figure and about 1500 for each half-page figure (Note: though some chapters could be longer, a maximum length of 15 pages could be imposed depending on the number of submissions).
  • Consider that, after peer revision, papers could be moved to a journal if deemed more appropriate.
  • To facilitate online searching, using e.g. Google, please provide an abstract for each of your chapters. Abstracts will appear online at SpringerLink.com with unrestricted access and enable unregistered users to read the abstract as a teaser for the complete chapter.
  • If excerpts from copyrighted works (including websites) such as illustrations, tables, animations, or text quotations are included in your manuscript, please obtain permission from the copyright holder (usually the original publisher) for both the print and online format. Refer to the RightsLink; we will send the Springer Permission Request Form to you at a  later date.
  • We strongly recommend that all chapter authors (corresponding authors, co-authors, contributing authors) include their affiliation and email address in their manuscript. Their email addresses (also published in the chapters) will be used by Springer to provide authors with a personal MySpringer account where they can download a free copy of the eBook.
  • Last but not least we would like to draw your attention to some other services intended to help authors. Feel free to visit the Author & Reviewer Tutorials and find more valuable tips on publishing the book on Springer’s information pages.

If you require any further information, feel free to contact Aldino Bondesan <aldino.bondesan@unipd.it>; Judy Ehlen <judyehlen@hotmail.com>
